Knox Jail and Records Contact
For current county custody or a jail-created booking record, contact the Knox County Sheriff's Office at 2375 S. Old Decker Road, Vincennes, IN 47591. The main telephone number is 812-882-7660, and the published email is dvantlin@knoxcounty.in.gov. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern, Monday through Friday. The office does not publish a separate records-unit line, so ask who currently receives Indiana Access to Public Records Act requests.
Choose the route that matches the record and custody stage:
- Use the home page for the full booking-photo lookup and focused records-request steps.
- Use Most Wanted for the sheriff's selected wanted notices and the safe warrant-check route.
- For a recent arrest, check the current KCSO inmate roster, then request date-bounded arrest facts if the person has already left custody.
- For release or transfer alerts, register with Indiana SAVIN; the live jail roster is not an archive.
- For a sentenced state prisoner, use the Indiana Department of Correction Offender Search.
- For a federal or immigration detainee, use the federal Bureau of Prisons or ICE locator, which covers a different custody system.
